Texas

As we were traveling to Texas, my humans always stopped every few hours to take me on a walk or to a dog park. Did you know that most Loves Truck Stops have a dog park? I always get to say hello to new friends.

At our first stop, my humans took me to ZBonz Dog Park in Forth Worth, TX. It was 10 acres with 7 acres just for large dogs like me, and 3 acres for smaller dogs. There was a huge pond in the middle where I ran down and got mud everywhere. I met a new friend and played until it was time to go to the Stockyards and smell the Long Horns. I was thankful the showers were turned off that day, until my mom used her drinking water to give me a “much needed bath”.

The Stockyards were very pet friendly, and allowed me in almost every store to smell the leather and say hello. All the stores gave me free water and treats everywhere I went just for looking cute.

The longhorns were HUGE; I kept my barking to myself and waited until they walked through the town. I recognized a familiar smell, I think I have actually chewed on one of their horns before…. sorry.

After exploring the town, we got back into the car for our next adventure. I was having the best nap then found myself at an alpaca farm. HOLY COW I have never smelled an alpaca before. I kept trying to find their poop to find out all about them, but apparently they all have a thing called a “comunity poop station”. They all poop in same spot? I am confused!

Then my nose located a different smell. I took off running as fast I could pulling my humans towards the barn, I found two horses. It wasn’t the same guys the cowboys rode in the Stockyards, but they were also very friendly.

At sunset my humans wanted to go for a bike ride, so I showed them the way and led them around the farm. We heard turkeys in the distance, and found several ducks and baby alpacas. I even got to kiss an alpaca before returning home.

Thanks Texas for letting me sniff your long horns, alpacas, horses and BBQ.
